  1. Frame holding comments as well as pins

    I'm using comments a lot, and I use Frame as much as those.
    But, when I move the frame, the comments stay at their position.

    I have to select every nodes and comments in frame to move them in a time.
    I think that this is a weird thing. There is no advantage to use frame if I want to use comments.

  2. Have Frame Titles Size Change with the Zooming In/Out of the Graph

    When you zoom out in a graph and it has a bunch of frames with long titles, it turns into an illegible mess. If the titles size changed to match the zooming (gets smaller when zooming out, bigger when zooming in) it would make things a lot more legible.

  3. Delete Node Only

    If I drag in my substance graph, I will get the links and nodes. Then I press Delete key with the selection, every node and link are removed.

    Sometimes that make things uncomfortable. What I only want to delete is the nodes, not the links.

  4. Lightweight Tablet Version

    Development of a designer tablet version that is more lightweight to allow for reliable material or graph creation on the go. Restrictions on size of output as well as other means to allow for at least height map creation.

  6. blending mode

    Permit to use Blending Mode Exposed Parameter in SBSAR, it is currently lock at the first state when exported as SBSAR, which prevent you to make a drop down list form it. For example, this could be use to make a multi blend node.

  7. Add "No to All" when Opening File with Missing Dependencies

    In a work setting it is very common to come across missing dependencies when opening someone else's file. In many cases I don't want to bother relocating a dozen missing references (we have our own proprietary tool to repath files automatically) so I end up having to click no to every single missing object.

    A "no to all" option would be fantastic so I can close out of the file faster.

  8. Supports the new DX10 / BCn (DX10/11) formats, Import and Export

    I could open DX10 dds with Intel® Texture Works Plugin in Photoshop but had trouble with substance designer, and had to convert new DDS format to .png or .tiff

    it would be great to direct import new dx10 format to Substance Designer

  9. Improve visibilty of crop controls

    The crop controls in the 2D view for crop nodes are barely visible on very noisy textures like rocks. The controls are then very difficult to manipulate. Please let us scroll through different control patterns so we can use one that renders well for a given texture, in particular use one with larger borders, or dim the outside of the cropped area (like Photoshop is doing with the Crop tool).

  10. output node export in right click menu

    would be so much easier then check in and check of in "Export Outputs"
    when you want just a single output exported

  11. Prevent switching 2D/3D tab

    I tabed 2D/3D view, and primarily stay with 3D, but EVERY TIME when I click some node, it switching active 3D tab to 2D — extremely annoying !

  12. Not a fan of Recent Update

    This recent update, while I understand it to be a more solid and official move to merge with the Adobe Creative Suite Platform, has not been loading or working as fluidly as previous builds of the Substance Suite.

    My software, for both Designer and PAinter have been Non-Responsive and have left me behind on work for the past few days after the upgrade. Even attempting to go back to a previous build has been problematic. I would like to resolve this quickly so I can get back to work.

  13. Switch Value (SD)

    There are Value nodes in SD but no Switch Value to branch them as we do with textures. A workaround it to transfer a Value into a Uniform Color and store the value in RGBA then use a Switch Color, but that is not a great way to handle this. Please add a Switch Value node.

    Allow exporting other image formats for GLTF/GLB, such as Jpeg. This would allow GLB file sizes to be much smaller/more optimized for web use.

  15. Token for exposing udim “description” in export template

    Please expose a token for the description field for udim texture sets when exporting. Similar to the $udim tag or $meshname etc... this would be a huge time saver and make for more flexible exports. Some workflows would greatly benefit from this.

  16. Browse panels and menus by dragging

    It would be great to have the option to browse all the panels such as properties menu and library by dragging. In the same manner as in Substance painter and other programs. In the most programs this is done with middle mouse button, but i think it would be logical to have it bind on ctrl+alt+left mouse button since the feature already works like this in the substance painter.

  17. Reload LowPoly Mesh In bake window

    I would like to suggest the ability to add a button in the baking menu/window in Substance Designer that allows the user to reload their low poly mesh while keeping the high poly asset in memory. Quite often when you bake from a high poly mesh and there are errors, you have to close the bake window, reload the low poly with new changes and rebake. The issue is that Designer clears the highpoly from memory which means it has to sync it up again. This because extremely time consuming when you have a very detailed high poly mesh. My…

  19. Allow for shortcuts to nodes with preset parameters

    I love the new ability to create nodes with shortcuts. But it would be even more helpful if we could set up shortcuts for the same node with different parameters. The specific reason I want this for is the blend node, which I usually node which mode I'm gonna use when I create it. It would be great if I could set up different shortcuts for multiply, screen, overlay etc.

  20. left click to pan around the graph

    I would like to request a feature to use left click to pan around substance designer graph. Similar as how it is in Unreal Engines node editor.

    I am aware that Substance Designer has right click for the menu but that should not be a problem because Unreal Engine has solved similar issue with separating click + drag and click as a different actions.

    For reference open up Unreal Engine material editor for example.
