  2. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ALLOW US TO MERGE TEXTURE AND MATERIAL SETS

  3. Differentiate between imported smart materials and created smart materials

    When you go into "Your Assets" in the assets shelf it will still show imported smart materials from File > Import Resources AND created smart materials by Right Click > Create Smart Material. There should be a way to only show smart materials from "Create Smart Material" and vice versa, there is other ways of doing this that can be discussed in the comments.

  4. I hope to add warp projection in 2D view,like warp projection in 3D

    Hello, I am a game art practitioner and have been in this industry for almost ten years. I have been paying attention and learning substance. thank you very much

    Substance Painter introduced the warp projection function in version 7.3. This is a great and very important feature. makes fine adjustments possible .Thanks again

    However, the warp projection is only suitable for 3D view,as the picture shows ,it is easily limited by the spatial relationship of the model itself ,These troubles happen frequently ,these will cause the warp projection to become unmanageable and therefore unusable

  5. Option to record 3D Painted strokes in UV space and not in world space or auto transfer 3D paint via UV space when the new model is imported

    In production the model changes after feedback. The textures need to be updated still. When I import the new model change into Substance Painter, the 3D paint strokes are reprojected at the previous locations of the old model and end up not lining up with the new model change. This breaks any kind of use in production.

    SP is built assuming there are no model changes, which is not production friendly. Model changes are common.
    We should have the option to set projects to not record brush strokes in 3D space.

    Looks like when I paint in the 2D UV…

  6. We need more robust painter API

    Painter's API is so poor that we can't even change textureset names.
    Also is there an online API reference page?I don't think so.
    All we got is a shader API reference page.

  7. Marquee/Lasso selection tool to move Paint layer pixels around in 2D/UV view.

    It would be great to be able to select pixels of a Paint layer with a simple marquee or lasso selection tool and then translate them as if they were pixels in a Photoshop layer. Sometimes allot of graphics are stamped into the same layer and you just want to grab a detail and nudge it in some direction. Arrow keys could be used just like in PS to nudge pixels even in 3D view but you should be able to grab it with the mouse and drag it to a new location.

  8. Please fix the Shelf

    Please fix the Shelf!

    At the moment it is a absolute nightmare in regards of loading times .. even with a Samsung SSD pro M2.
    Hosting the Shelf on a NAS seems quite impossible atm and it takes up to 10-15 min till it gets loaded? I have LAN 1000 Mb/s connection, Am I missing somehting here ? The sorting is a nightmare as well via the buttons in the new UI .. used to be better and at least working before.

  9. Import Stager visualization into Painter

    The rendering and realtime visualization capabilities of Stager are superior to those of Painter. The iRay render is old and slow (init time), and the realtime viewport visualization may benefit from the realtime mode of Stager. The request here is to use the relevant Stager code in Painter to better handle these visualization aspects. I know it is possible to send a model from Painter to Stager in a single click which is nice, but this is not same as having good visualizers in-app.

  11. Please finish the color Dialog.

    Please finish the color Dialog. Would be nice if you added an .ini file that goes from session to session and keeps the swatches expanded and the dialog where I left it last. The color dialog is great! But this would make it a hundred times nicer. Thanks for all your efforts guys and gals!

  12. Parameter visibility in generators/filters not working well

    Painter is not handling properly conditional visibility of parameters. It works for some cases and not others, this seems to be related to the complexity of the condition. Already reported to support, still not fixed.

  13. Painter: enable saving presets for generators and filters

    When using generators/filters in Painter, there is no way to export the parameters we are setting up like in Designer, so we can reuse these parameters into other projects. Please add this option.

  14. Ability to create a new Camera and save it's properties from within Substance Painter

    I love using substance painter to apply color an material to models that I've made in Rhino 3D. On most occasions, the built in Iray renderer is all I need to create really good quality output for internal stake-holders to review. The main issue that I run into is difficulty importing cameras into Substance Painter from Rhino. I suspect most of the issues are with the export from Rhino, but if Substance could create some simple Camera functions it would make all the difference. I would like the ability to create a camera, name it, and save any adjusted camera…

  15. Ability to turn off specular/glossy default shading for accurate viewport look

    I wish there were a simple way from the shader settings to turn off this default level of specularity/glossiness on a model's appearance (I'm using pbr-metal-rough-with-alpha-blending most of the time). It looks to be glossy when the roughness is low but even without any metallic value to it (metallic is set to 0). Also it can happen when no specular level field is included with the material attributes (like color, metal, rough, etc are enabled). The reason I want this is because sometimes the "shininess" of a model/texture will be misleading looking at it first in Substance and then exporting…

  18. Need to be able to sample grayscale in masks.

    So I generated a nice mask using warp, gradients etc. and just need to blend it manually so it transitions nicely with a paint layer.

    However you can't sample a mask?! In fact you can't even sample anything in the grayscale channel unless you're in a color channel?

    Masks are the foundation of many workflows in Substance painter so we really should have easy ways to do things like this.

    When the dev team goes to improve color sampling, please add features like this to mask sampling too.

    Why not have an option to at least let the eye dropper…

  19. Add Hot keys for viewing angles

    Add Hot keys for viewing angles. Like F - Front, L - Left, R- Right, T- Top, B - Bottom this will really helpful. No we are facing issue when we want exact View.

  20. Display Texture Information In Asset Library

    When you hover over or right click on a texture in your asset library it should tell you details about the asset, primarily its dimensions.
