3d Mouse Support.
Support for 3dConnexion mice for navigating while painting.
Frankly I am shocked to find that Substance Painter does not support 3DConnexion Space Mouse hardware!? How??
ZBrush, Blender, 3DSMAX, Lightwave, Cinema4D, DAZ3D, Poser, Enovia, Google Earth, HOUDINI, MAYA, MODO, MUDBOX, Rhino, TurboCAD, VUE, and a dozen of other 3D creation applications have integrated support for these gadgets, making navigating in 3D space a revolution.
Considering that even ACROBAT and ADOBE Reader and PHOTOSHOP have a support certificate for 3DConnexion tools, how comes ADOBE doesn't use the already existing knowledge and transfer this to Substance Painter, too??
The Space Mouse is easily available at below 150 Dollars, I am using it in Lightwave (where I am using an 8 years old version of the application!!!), in Poser, Blender, DAZ3D, but when I switch to top notch modern texturing application Substance Painter, I fall back to past generation camera navigation with "spread your fingers" control key combinations...??

3D mice support is generally standard feature in most 3D software now, it's sad to see Substance Painter staying behind.

3d mouse implementation is not rocket science. Do you need capable employees to implement useful features. I'll make you a good price. Where can I send my offer / application?

I've 151 days remaining on my student license, it pains me to think that Spacemouse isn't supported, especially as it works so well with other 3D software. I can only echo what others have said, it is crazy that the latest version of Substance lacks the appropriate integration of this tool because alt+three button mouse transforms seems so 2005. I might buy Substance, but understand that if I don't, this sort of basic feature request not being implemented will be a deciding factor. Please sort it out.
It would really be a significant boost in speed/productivity. A 3Dconnexion mouse is the perfect tool for this app. It's been around for ages why is it still not implemented ?

How is this still not supported? Everything about this software is cutting edge, and I'm still moving around my viewport like it's 2005. It's absurd. It would likely take one engineer two days to get this running perfectly. This improvement suggestion is clearly desired by a large number of your customers.

Hmmm. Exactly. No proper 3D hardware support. I'm also sure Substance still supports joysticks. The clicky ones. Just it is hard to find those 9-pin ports on PCs... No problem, 3D Coat supports Connexion products for some years now.
I need this a lot :)
Also it's not that hard. You can just implement it as a HID device if that's easier. You can refer to the Blender source code

This software is amazing, and I am very grateful that you have developed such a powerful material authoring and application system. I know y'all don't get nearly enough thanks for what you do, and I don't want to be another voice of discord down here in the comments, so thank you.
That being said, please, at the very least, take this off of backlog priority. You already know that this is the top suggestion, and I don't know if you are filtering out feedback based on assigned priority, but people are coming here to vote this and commenting. Not all of the comments are.. professional.. so just understand that this being a backlog item is kind of disheartening, especially with it being a top requested item. I know that integrating a whole other SDK is difficult, I am a software engineer myself, so I most certainly am not asking that this be your next focus.
Just take it off the backlog. Put a different priority on it than this. If this continues to be your top feedback suggestion, while still having the backlog priority, y'all might actually start to have a PR situation on your hands, as this is telling everyone who votes this that you are not listening to them. Don't take this a some kind of threat or something. I am just pointing out a potential issue here.
Otherwise, thank you for building this ecosystem.
I just recently subscribed and am going through some of the basic tutorials. The default navigation works adequately, but I feel my hand wanting to grab the spacemouse next to me. I was disappointed to find that there is no 3dconnexion support and that these user requests are going back years. I use it with Houdini and UE4, and it feels jarring switching between applications which support the device, and those that don't. It's an ergonomics/comfort/quality-of-life issue and I hope the Substance team will get around to addressing this soon.
The Top voted request by your paying customers and it's deemed "low priority".
It's pretty obvious that it's just laziness by the development team. Choosing to implement "hex color with copy/paste" request over your most requested feature says it all. I cant wait to be able to copy paste a hex colour, that will really speed up my workflow.
I'm so disappointed having spent the money on the Substance Painter license. 3d mouse support is such a basic requirement for 3d designers. Duh!
Very happy that 3d Coat supports 3D Space mouse, and I love that tool.
Here's the link to the SDK, I guess everyone at Algorithmic/Adobe are too bone idle to look for it themselves
