    both Painter and Sampler are very laggy on M1 mac. It would be great if it worked natively on M1!

  3. Exporter gLTF must name document by nameTexture set list

    The gLTF exporter issues textures with a name from the list of texture sets, but glb, bin, gltf with the name of the working document, this is somehow strange and not even convenient, it is logical to name all content from the specified "Texture set list"

  4. Default Brush is BAD always needs changing.

    Artists don't want a strong nasty calligraphy pen as their default.

    Remove the tablet pressure size setting..
    Add tablet pressure setting to FLOW.
    Reduce flow default to 20 - 30. WAY to strong. Not usable.
    Reduce spacing to 5. No one wants a brush that STUTTERS.
    Please obtain an artist on your staff that textures characters they would catch this fast..

    Currently every single time I want to brush out a mask, or brush in cavity maps on facial skin, I have to re tweak and re-remove the unusable defaults. Thx!

  5. Make the frontal and rear distance values easier to type in and use.

    In the common parameters max frontal / rear distance. It's hard and finicky to use, if you click and type it always messes up, loses the decimal, overall sloppy and frustrating. Make these bigger, easier to type in and use to input values. Not a fun part of the process.

    Example I just tried to click on the .01 to change it, and the slider bar is 'so close' to that field that it yanked the slider bar value to .987, making me try to click again, ,then type again, ,and when you type it mucks up and highlights /…

  6. Stamp tool "replace" "normal" "color" modes

    I would like to have the corrector tool as in Photoshop with the "replace" "normal" "color" modes, very practical for working on the color channel of real texture.
    you can add its mode to the current stamp tool that will do the job too

    Extending the Python API by getting access to layer operations like:

    • Creating, renaming, deleting layers
    • Reordering of layers
    • Assigning resources to layers
    • Editing layer properties (Blend modes, channels, opacity, etc.)

  8. Add option for easily selecting the R,G, B or A channel of a texture map when using as a fill

    If you import a texture map from which you would want to use the R,G,B & A separately as a mask, or as a fill layer, you currently need to use something thats quite hidden (generator-grayscale conversion) and this only works with the R,G &B channels not the alpha. Would it be possible to add a feature where you can select which channel to use much more straightforward (eg in the fill properties itself)?
    Sometimes you make a map from which you only want to use the one channel (eg normal map's green channel, or ORM map, or a brushstroke…

  9. Option to disable brush strokes recording

    We all know that SPainter is made this way to provide a non-destructive workflow, so we can change the model, uv, materials and it will reproject/recalculate stuff for us.

    BUT...

    Its about years people asking fixes that enable us to make handpainted textures.
    The new brushes are amazing and feels good to use. But if we use for a long time, the app starts to slow down and the file becomes HUGE.

    My suggestion:
    Just a button to "not record brush strokes in the current session/project".

    The file will not be huge when we paint.
    The app will not slow…

  10. Add texture sets/materials to the geometry masking dropdown

    A toggle for importing materials (facesets) from alembic would also be nice. Or add texture sets to the geometry masking dropdown. As a VFX user, I don't find much value for UDIMs split by texture sets.

    For material masking from shaders I setup in Maya, I create mask by colour from baked ID maps in UDIM.
    I cannot bake IDs from materials and work across UDIMs with the same mesh. One mesh has to have the faceset data, and another without. (Even so I have to combine UDIM exports in post.)

  11. Height painting without tedious anchor setups for each and every layer on top.

    If given multiple materials on top it's really tedious to link every one of them to the bottom painted height. A more user-friendly rework, making the painted height layer automatically affect everything on top would cut many steps in my workflow and offer such a more pleasant experience.

    Udim size from 3d don't appear in substance.

    Hello, I would like to know if there is a way to keep the size of my Udims exports from my 3D
    Genre 512x512 for 1, 1024 for the other ect.

    Because each time putting the sizes back in substance is tiring and wastes a lot of time.

    Keeping the (1001namesize) anotation will also be cool.

  15. Allowing to disable auto docking of UI elements

    The auto docking of UI elements has a pretty wide radius and can be overly aggressive.
    I end up spending a surprisingly large amount of time undocking UI elements or carefully placing them so they won´t dock. It is slowing me down quite a bit and makes the tool less enjoyable as the UI gets in the way frequently.

    This definitely is a matter of personal taste but having the option to disable docking or have a docking behavior that is closer to Photoshop would be of great benefit for many users.

    The CC / Allegorithmic folder structure is murder to me as a third party who makes tools. Please Think of the children. Or me. Or whoever makes you make these decisions.

  18. RIP Allegorithmic: Leave as you found it, please

    Hi Adobe,
    Please don't mess with my favorites softwares. Take back at least original layer and mask thumbnails in painter. Your new set up makes harder to find layers in complicated project with hundreds of them, like in game artists workflow. And we are like the 99% of your user base.
    Don't let it go from "top industry standard" to "no one cares because it sucks". I know you're capable of, be aware.

  19. Re Seed All Hot Key

    Current work flow for our current project requires to reseed the parameters for several layers (nearly 50 or so) for future builds it would be immensely helpful if there was a "Re Seed All" hotkey for quicker turn arounds on our project.

  20. Ability to create mask with geometry name

    In guerilla render you can use a node and regex to select piece of geometry you want to assign things.
    Imagine like a fill layer but instead of color or anchor point, you can select "geometry name", and thus, if you named ahead your geo, you can type "steel", "nuts", and it will create a b&w map with your regex selected geo in white and else black.
