  2. SBSAR generator with many parameters slow selection in layer stack

    I am using an SBSAR generator having many parameters (about 500) organized in groups and with conditional visibilities. Selecting it in the layer stack takes about 7 seconds for it to display, which is very penalizing for users. This is due to the amount of parameters and the way Painter processes them, not what the generator is actually doing. Please improve this, you may revisit the way the SBSAR is processed when selected and/or use a cache structure.

  3. Show cursor's corresponding 2D location on UV island when hovering in 3D.

    Currently, I have to locate the UV island in 2D viewport by picking/painting with a bright distinct color in 3D, seeing where the color is located in 2D, Ctrl-Z, then go back to the 2D viewport to begin painting.

    Unless I'm missing something, curious if there's a more intuitive way.

  4. Clicking outside the [color dialog] Closes the dialog?

    Can we please make it so when I click outside the color dialog that it as if I hit the x in the upper right hand corner?

  5. I hope "add reference" feature would be added in future

    Adding reference to the scene would make workflow so much better, for example: if guy don't know how to paint or something, he can just trace the picture with paint brush, but it's really hard right now because of no reference feature, if it would exist, life would be much easier lol

  6. Download Materials Directly to Painter

    Substance Launcher - Great product, but now deprecated.^^

    You may want to re-think that, or at least make it possible to download materials directly into Painter.

    Great software works with you and has a simplified work-flow.

    Painter and Materials are not separate tools they are integral to each other. They used to work together - please bring that back.

    OK Adobe is on board now, we get that - but don't push Painter backwards. Those features were there because they worked with the artist.

    Current method is working against artists.

    An please get rid of this ridiculous 5 line window…

  7. Import export substance export settings

    I want the exporter to have an import export settings option, because it makes my head explode trying to explain how to set this up for different platforms. Then users could share settings.

  8. Add the ability to create/edit bezier masks in the 3d and 2d port. Also add the ability to use system fonts straight in Substance

    We need to have the ability to create and edit bezier masks in a paint software. The same thing with system fonts. It is annoying to have to use Photoshop or Illustrator to create non interactive masks for a layer as well as have to type the font and then use it as a stencil.

  10. Subdivision Displacement Baking

    Plase add the option for Subdivision Displacement Baking.

    Subdivision baking does only work if the highres and the lowress share the same source geometry. Its not based on raycasting therefore it does bake 100% clean displacement.

  11. Substance Painter Bridge (including 3rd party renderers)

    A Substance Painter Bridge so you can work seamlessly with other 3D packages (Blender/Octane in my case).
    You could choose the shader presets on SP based on the renderer you're using and it would automatically update the textures. It would allow you to be painting the materials in SP and seeing the results updated on your software without the need to export - import textures each time.

    We were frantically looking for some tool to just convert the EDB to PST and stumbled upon Vartika software. Using the trial version, we made ourselves familiar with the tool and compared it with other similar ones on the market. We found Vartika to be very cost-effective and purchased their corporate license.   16. Enable removing imported items from project

    Imported items such as generators cannot be removed from the project even if they are not referenced anymore. Please enable to completely remove the selected imports from the project.

  17. 7.3 Color Picker is worse and requires extra steps to use.

    7.3 Color Picker is worse. Now you have to click the "close window" button instead of just clicking anywhere outside the window. Value slider now at the bottom of the window rather than on the side.
    These 2 changes slow down the use of the window. It worked fine before

  18. Extra large thumbnails in Asset Library

    The Asset Library can display icons in Large format but they are still rather small, please add another display type with larger icons.

    Ideally it would be even better to have a zoom slider in the Asset view so we can use a custom zoom factor.

  19. Add hotkey to view mask channel

    In the same manner as material has a dedicated hotkey, the mask channel would have one as well. This would allow easy access to mask channel and then back to material.

    This is now somewhat possible with the "view previous channel" option although if you have to use another channel, you have to always cycle through all the channels to once more access the mask channel.

  20. Camera FOV Based Projection Painting

    Projection painting using an imported FBX camera.

    If you import a FBX camera and a texture with matching resolution you can manually try and position the projection texture but this is not perfect.
    You should have an option when projection painting to scale texture to camera field of view perfectly.
    Ideally you could then "apply projection" rather than having to paint the entire screen.
    This would be greatly helpful for photogrammetry or VFX work.
