    A 2d and 3d ruler that can be turned on. The 2d one doesn't move as the camera does and helps for drawing straight lines. The 3d one can be rotated as a guide to draw straight lines as well.

  2. Cancel Baking in a Reasonable Amount of Time

    If you cancel your Bake Mesh Maps procedure, it takes and ungodly amount of time to back out of that process. Why is that? I'm asking it to stop, why does it need any further processing at all?
    Let's fix that!

  3. Make Substance so it can open simple OBJ files.

    Make the program able to open simple OBJ files so you can use it. I downloaded the trial before my company purchases it and I cannot get it to open my OBJ files. I have tried again and again with no luck ;(

  4. Have "Export to Photoshop" consider geometry masks

    Currently, exporting to Photoshop seems to ignore geometry masks. I think it'd be nice to have an option to export color layers that are already clipped out or at least have it generate bitmasks from corresponding geometry masks.

  5. Add the ability to set the material's attribute for glTF/USD exporter

    Add the ability to set the material's attribute (alphaMode, alphaCutoff, and doubleSided) for glTF/USD exporter. Currently afik you can only change the alphaMode from Blend to Opaque by removing the Opacity channel but there isn't a way to set this to Mask and edit the other attribute above. Without this the exporter is useless when you're exporting object with a decal or complex transparent objects.

  6. Default Brush is BAD always needs changing.

    Artists don't want a strong nasty calligraphy pen as their default.

    Remove the tablet pressure size setting..
    Add tablet pressure setting to FLOW.
    Reduce flow default to 20 - 30. WAY to strong. Not usable.
    Reduce spacing to 5. No one wants a brush that STUTTERS.
    Please obtain an artist on your staff that textures characters they would catch this fast..

    Currently every single time I want to brush out a mask, or brush in cavity maps on facial skin, I have to re tweak and re-remove the unusable defaults. Thx!

    Warp projection: enable grid size change without resetting positions

    We cannot change the grid properties when grid dots have been moved. It would be nice to be able to change the grid layout without having to reset the moved dots. Just interpolate the new dots based on the existing ones when adding new dots. When removing dots, preserve those at the edges, middle and center and remove in the other areas.

  8. Add option for easily selecting the R,G, B or A channel of a texture map when using as a fill

    If you import a texture map from which you would want to use the R,G,B & A separately as a mask, or as a fill layer, you currently need to use something thats quite hidden (generator-grayscale conversion) and this only works with the R,G &B channels not the alpha. Would it be possible to add a feature where you can select which channel to use much more straightforward (eg in the fill properties itself)?
    Sometimes you make a map from which you only want to use the one channel (eg normal map's green channel, or ORM map, or a brushstroke…

  9. Python API > Access to layers

    Extending the Python API by getting access to layer operations like:

    • Creating, renaming, deleting layers
    • Reordering of layers
    • Assigning resources to layers
    • Editing layer properties (Blend modes, channels, opacity, etc.)

  10. Copy/Paste to other project and don't lazily "hard decline", figure it out.

    You should be able to copy layers, then open a new project and paste those layers in. There are all sorts of solutions including packing a temp smart material into the clipboard.

    This was suggested before with a lazy response of "This causes all sorts of issues" and I'm calling BS on that. Figure it out. You now have all of Adobe's resources to call on. Do so.

    both Painter and Sampler are very laggy on M1 mac. It would be great if it worked natively on M1!

  13. Exporter gLTF must name document by nameTexture set list

    The gLTF exporter issues textures with a name from the list of texture sets, but glb, bin, gltf with the name of the working document, this is somehow strange and not even convenient, it is logical to name all content from the specified "Texture set list"

  14. Different Display Mode between 3d/2d viewport

    Hi,
    could be great if we could set a different display mode for 3d and 2d viewport, for example: paint in Mask mode in 2D viewport and be in Material Mode in 3D viewport for see the final result at the same time, actually it's linked.

  15. Make the frontal and rear distance values easier to type in and use.

    In the common parameters max frontal / rear distance. It's hard and finicky to use, if you click and type it always messes up, loses the decimal, overall sloppy and frustrating. Make these bigger, easier to type in and use to input values. Not a fun part of the process.

    Example I just tried to click on the .01 to change it, and the slider bar is 'so close' to that field that it yanked the slider bar value to .987, making me try to click again, ,then type again, ,and when you type it mucks up and highlights /…

  16. Stamp tool "replace" "normal" "color" modes

    I would like to have the corrector tool as in Photoshop with the "replace" "normal" "color" modes, very practical for working on the color channel of real texture.
    you can add its mode to the current stamp tool that will do the job too

  17. Option to disable brush strokes recording

    We all know that SPainter is made this way to provide a non-destructive workflow, so we can change the model, uv, materials and it will reproject/recalculate stuff for us.

    BUT...

    Its about years people asking fixes that enable us to make handpainted textures.
    The new brushes are amazing and feels good to use. But if we use for a long time, the app starts to slow down and the file becomes HUGE.

    My suggestion:
    Just a button to "not record brush strokes in the current session/project".

    The file will not be huge when we paint.
    The app will not slow…

  20. Re Seed All Hot Key

    Current work flow for our current project requires to reseed the parameters for several layers (nearly 50 or so) for future builds it would be immensely helpful if there was a "Re Seed All" hotkey for quicker turn arounds on our project.
